Mouni Roy is having a great 2023. After winning accolades and praise for her work in 2022 hit Brahmstra: Part One – Shiva, the actress has added another feather to her cap – that of a restaurateur. The actress, on Tuesday, shared a glimpse of her new restaurant in Mumbai named Badmaash. In the caption, she wrote, “Overflowing with joy and culinary delights as our new restaurant unfurls its doors….!” adding a geotag for Mumbai, Maharashtra. In the image, Mouni Roy is dressed in a top and mini skirt. In response to the post, several of Mouni's colleagues including Smriti Khanna, Anusha Dandekar, and choreographer Kruti Mahesh congratulated her in the comments section.

The happy development comes just days after Mouni Roy won an IIFA award for her role in Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. On Monday, the actress shared glimpses from the big night, which she attended with her husband and family. In her victory speech on stage, Mouni Roy said, “To all the small-town girls whose dreams are bigger than your hometown – keep dreaming, keep working hard, because nothing is impossible. Thank you IIFA for this magical, magical evening.” Following this, she also said, “I want to dedicate this award to my husband for being my rock, and the love, and the light, and the joy of my life.”

In her caption, Mouni Roy reflected on her journey in the entertainment industry. She said, “I have social anxiety, not the best speaker on stage or socially but this evening in particular was profuse, to say the least. I'm a small-town girl, sometimes lost but confident of who I'm, what I stand for. This has been a 16-year-long unforgiving journey in this industry. The only thing I know, I have learnt, is that work begets work & there is no shortcut to hard work.”

Thanking her fans and loved ones, Mouni Roy said, “So here I'm… I'll keep working on myself on all my shortcomings as should you. Keep following the light, give all your love to your family and best friends, invest in yourself, spiritually… and sometimes, very rarely you'll find opulence, not the materialistic kind but what you dream of, what you imagine and crave for. I love my life and the people in it and am so thankful for each one of you to make it so magical… too many thoughts, too many words… but the feeling…only GRATITUDE.”

Mouni Roy's IIFA win came just days after her debut at the prestigious Cannes film festival. “It was a dream debut, and I shall remember every second of it. Taking many memories for days to come, also gonna be spamming your feeds incessantly,” she said in an Instagram post, following her red-carpet appearance.
