Watch: Deepika Padukone And Ranveer Singh Pose With The Paparazzi At Mumbai Airport

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh flew down to Mumbai after celebrating the New Year celebrations with their daughter Dua. The couple, reportedly, went to the Maldives for spending Deepika's 39th birthday (January 5). On Tuesday evening, the couple delighted the Mumbai shutterbugs at the airport. The happy couple posed with the paparazzi. They were all smiles. 

For the airport look, Deepika chose stripes and looked super chic. Ranveer Singh tied his hair in a pony tail and was dressed in his casual best. A paparazzo also wished Deepika belated happy birthday and she responded with a smile, "Thank You."

Deepika Padukone shared a glimpse from the Christmas celebrations on social media feed. She shared a picture of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree with customized baubles, name-checking each member of the family including their daughter Dua.

Sharing the post, Deepika wrote in the caption, "My heart is full." She tagged Ranveer Singh and added a hashtag gratitude to the post. Ranveer Singh dropped a string of heart emojis in the comments. Take a look:

Last month, Deepika and Ranveer hosted a special meet and greet for the paparazzi and introduced daughter Dua to the shutterbugs. Pictures from the event went crazy viral as Deepika and Ranveer posed for picture-perfect snaps.

Paparazzo Pallav Paliwal, who was in attendance, shared details of his first impression about Dua.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, "When we arrived, Deepika and Ranveer greeted us. Later, Deepika went inside and brought baby Dua in her arms. Dua clung to her mother throughout. She was dressed in a simple white dress."

"They asked us to keep the noise down as Dua had just woken up from her nap. Deepika later took Dua back inside," he added.

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on September 8. On Diwali, Deepika and Ranveer shared the first picture of their daughter and revealed her name. "'Dua' : Meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love & Gratitude. Deepika & Ranveer," they captioned the post. Take a look:

On the professional front, Deepika has had a busy few years, with recent films including Pathaan, Jawan, Fighter, Kalki 2898 AD and Singham Again. Ranveer Singh is currently working on Aditya Dhar's upcoming espionage thriller, which features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna.

2,300-Year-Old Dwarf Statuette from Alexandria Reveals Ptolemaic Art Insights

A 2,300-year-old marble statuette discovered in Alexandria, Egypt, has offered new insights into how dwarves were perceived during the Ptolemaic period (332–150 B.C.). Depicting a muscular, nude dwarf in motion, the 4-inch sculpture reflects a combination of Egyptian and Greek artistic traditions. Despite missing its arms, legs, and part of the head, the craftsmanship of the piece indicates a highly skilled rendering of human anatomy. It is currently housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Depictions of Dwarves in Ptolemaic Art

According to information from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as reported by Live Science, the statuette incorporates elements from Greek art, such as classical nudity and Hellenistic realism, blended with Egyptian cultural aesthetics. This synthesis points to the cultural exchange that characterised the Ptolemaic dynasty, a period when Egypt was ruled by Ptolemy I Soter, a general of Alexander the Great. The depiction of a dwarf engaged in dance suggests a significant societal role, unlike the exaggerated caricatures of dwarves often seen in Greek art.

Egyptian Perspectives on Dwarves

Historical records indicate that dwarves were highly regarded in ancient Egypt, often serving in the households of nobles and pharaohs. Their association with the god Bes, who was depicted as a short and muscular protector of families and women in childbirth, contributed to their societal acceptance. Bes, known as a dancer and tambourine player, symbolises strength and guardianship in Egyptian mythology. The statuette's design, which likely depicted the dwarf with a percussion instrument, aligns with this cultural significance.

A Glimpse into Cultural Integration

The artifact demonstrates the integration of different human forms into Egyptian society during the Ptolemaic era. The Met has emphasised that such depictions reflect a broader tradition of valuing diverse body types, setting the Egyptian approach apart from other ancient civilisations. This statuette, though small in size, offers a profound understanding of cultural dynamics during a transformative period in history.

When Junaid Khan Saw His Parents Aamir Khan And Reena Dutta Fight: "Good People Aren't Always Good Together"

Junaid Khan, who is all set to feature in the film Loveyapa opposite Khushi Kapoor, opened up about his growing up years with his divorced parents. Unlike his sister Ira, who previously said that their parents' divorce did impact her, Junaid said he was not affected negatively in an interview with Vickey Lalwani. 

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta parted ways in 2002 when Junaid was eight years old. Later, Aamir married Kiran Rao in 2005. Sharing about the time when Junaid first saw his parents fight, he said, "My parents split up, I think, when I was eight. But they never actually let us feel that. I never saw them fight till I was 19. The first time I saw my parents fight, I was 19."

He continued, "So we never saw them disagree or fight. They always... When it came to us (Junaid and his sister Ira) they were a single unit. So, I think that way they did well. I think it was probably a mature thing to do. I mean two good people aren't always good together and this way we got, at least I got a childhood with both parents being happy."

The Maharaj actor emphasized that his parents' separation didn't impact his early days negatively. "Personally I don't think I missed it so much. Papa used to be there. It's not like he was entirely not there. In fact sometimes it was like, 'it's ok, don't come...'" he revealed.

At Ira's wedding last year, Aamir Khan, his ex-wives Reena Dutta, Kiran Rao, sons Junaid, Azad set an example of a modern blended family as they enjoyed to their fullest. Happy pictures from the wedding were all over social media.

Talking about the dynamics in the family, Junaid Khan said, "It's great. We meet frequently (after her marriage). We all live within the same 100-metre radius. So we meet often. In fact, every Tuesday evening is family tea. So, mum, Ira, me and dad, sometimes some of us may not be free, but otherwise every Tuesday evening we meet where there are all four of us or three or two. For a few years now we've been doing that. We meet quite frequently."

Junaid Khan made his Bollywood debut with the Netflix original Maharaj. He will also be seen with Sai Pallavi in a film this year.

Payal Kapadia's First Reaction After Losing Golden Globes: "We Didn't Win But..."

Payal Kapadia's Cannes-winning All We Imagine As Light failed to get an award at the 82nd Golden Globes Award ceremony. However, the director took the loss in her stride and shared a spirited post on her Instagram stories.

Payal Kapadia, along with the producers of the film, was present at the ceremony. Payal shared a picture in which she can be seen posing with Thomas Hakim, Julien Graff and Ranabir Das before heading to the Golden Globes.

Payal wrote in the caption, "We didn't win anything but had soo much fun" and she added a cheeky emoji with it.

Payal also thanked her designers on the post. She wore a handwoven jumpsuit for the occasion. 

All We Imagine As Light, a poignant drama about two nurses in Mumbai, received two nominations in the Golden Globes - Best Non-English Language Motion Picture and Best Director. In the first category, the film lost to Emilia Perez. In the direction category, The Brutalist won the award.

Payal Kapadia's feature debut has received a lot of international acclaim since it premiered at Cannes where it not only registered the second best award but was also one of the best reviewed movies.

The movie was named the Best International Film by New York Film Critics Circle and won an award in the same category at the Gotham Awards recently.

All We Imagine As Light claimed the top spot at the Sight and Sound magazine's annual list of 50 best movies of the year.

The Malayalam-Hindi feature is being distributed in the US by Janus Films and Sideshow. Rana Daggubati's Spirit Media released the film across India in November.

Starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha and Chhaya Kadam, Payal Kapadia's film explores love and friendship in the bustling city of Mumbai through three women, two Malayali nurses - Prabha and Anu - and their friend Parvati.

The 2025 Hollywood award season officially kickstarted with the 82nd edition of the Golden Globes. The awards ceremony is currently underway at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on January 5.  Stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser is hosting the show. She is the first woman to solo host the Golden Globe ceremony in the history of the awards show.

India is pinning its hopes on Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine As Light. Payal Kapadia is nominated in the Best Director category. She will compete with Jacques Audiard for Emilia Perez; Sean Baker for Anora; Edward Berger for Conclave; Brady Corbet for The Brutalist; and Coralie Fargeat for The Substance.

The film is also nominated in the Best Motion Picture in a Non-English Language category with strong contenders like Emilia Perez, I'm Still Here, The Girl with the Needle, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, and Vermiglio.

Emilia Perez is leading the nominations with 10 nods, followed by The Brutalist (7), Conclave (6), Anora and The Substance (5 each),  Challengers, A Real Pain, Wicked, The Wild Robot (4 each).

Baby Reindeer, Shogun and The Bear are among the shows competing in the TV categories.

In recent years, the voting body behind the Globes has expanded and diversified its membership and brought in a new code of conduct.

Aubrey Plaza's Husband And Filmmaker Jeff Baena Dies At 47

Filmmaker Jeff Baena, best known for his work in Life After Beth (2014), Joshy (2016), and The Little Hours (2017), died at the age of 47. His representative confirmed his death, stating that his body was found on Friday at his residence in Los Angeles. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, according to Variety.

Jeff Baena was married to actress Aubrey Plaza, who starred in several of his films, including The Little Hours - a dark comedy set in a 14th-century convent-and Life After Beth.

Originally from Miami, Jeff later moved to New York to attend film school at New York University. After graduating, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Throughout his career, Jeff directed several notable films, such as Spin Me Round (2022), a dark comedy starring Allison Brie, who co-wrote the screenplay. His 2016 dramedy Joshy featured a cast including Thomas Middleditch, Adam Pally, and Nick Kroll. He also worked alongside Brie on Horse Girl (2020), a psychological drama.

Jeff co-wrote I Heart Huckabees (2004), a film directed by David O. Russell that explored existential themes through humour. His films were recognised at major festivals like Sundance and South by Southwest and were distributed by companies like Netflix, IFC, and Lionsgate.

Jeff Baena is survived by his wife, Aubrey Plaza, as well as his mother, Barbara Stern; stepfather, Roger Stern; father, Scott Baena; and stepmother, Michele Baena.
