Madgaon Express Box Office Collection Day 13: Kunal Kemmu's Film Inches Closer To The Rs 20 Crore Mark

Kunal Kemmu's directorial debut Madgaon Express witnessed a dip in earnings on its second Wednesday. The comedy-drama on day 13 minted ₹0.45 crore at the domestic box office, as per Sacnilk. After this, the film's total business now stands at ₹18.7 crore, the report added. The box office numbers of Madgaon Express dwindled on day 13, compared to its earnings on the second Tuesday in theatres, when it amassed ₹0.55 crore. Released on March 22, Madgaon Express has been headlined by Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi and Avinash Tiwary, while Nora Fatehi, Chhaya Kadam and Remo D'Souza are seen essaying key roles. Backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, the film revolves around three childhood friends, who embark on a fun trip to Goa. All is fine until this vacation takes an unexpected turn.

After the release of Madgaon Express, Nora Fatehi shared her experience of working in the Kunal Kemmu directorial. In a recent conversation with Mashable India, the actress recalled being nervous. Nora said that she feared that her co-stars - Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi and Avinash Tiwary – might judge her for being just an “eye candy” in Madgaon Express. She said, "I was nervous to meet them because I had studied their work, manifested working with them and I wanted them to take me seriously and not think, ‘Oh she is here to just look good' or is some ‘eye candy' for the film. Sometimes actors don't take people like me seriously when you meet them. I was nervous about what they would think about me. So, I wanted to ensure I do a good reading, my Hindi is ok because I wanted them to respect me."

However, Nora Fatehi confessed that her views changed after meeting her co-stars. Nora added, “But when I met them, they were so amazing. After 10 minutes, I didn't feel that nervousness anymore. Of course, I was always thinking that I should do my scenes well, and say my dialogues properly so that they are also happy with me. Actors who take their craft seriously don't appreciate people who don't do the same. It is commendable because you put so much time and effort, you want the same from the other person.”

For his NDTV review, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave Madgaon Express 3 out of 5 stars and said, “Madgaon Express is one rigmarole that never seems close to overstaying its welcome, with even the post-climax scenes - they interrupt the end credits in a novel, cockeyed fashion - springing loads of surprises and forcing the audience to hang on until it is all done and dusted.”

"Apart from a script that never stops delivering generous doses of hilarity, the comic timing that the three actors achieve gives the riotous farce its vibrancy. Each of the three principal actors successfully employs his own style to fit the character he plays," Saibal Chatterjee added.

Crew Box Office Collection Day 6: Tabu, Kareena Kapoor And Kriti Sanon's Film Remains Steady

Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu's latest film Crew made a debut at the box office, minting Rs 30 crore over its opening weekend. However, the movie experienced a decline in earnings, with a 60% drop on its first Monday. This downward trend persisted, with earnings further decreasing on Tuesday, marking a gradual slowdown in box office momentum. According to a report in Sacnilk, Crew collected Rs 3.25 crore on Wednesday, maintaining a steady stream of revenue despite the weekday lull. The film registered an overall 11.60% Hindi occupancy on Wednesday, contributing to its cumulative six-day earnings of Rs 40.70 crore.

Crew revolves around three air hostesses portrayed by Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti, whose fortunes take a dramatic turn when they stumble upon a dead passenger smuggling gold biscuits, amidst the backdrop of their airline Kohinoor facing bankruptcy.

Reportedly, Crew has been released across 2000 theatres. It premiered in over 75 countries, spanning more than 1100 locations. The estimated budget for the film, covering production and advertising expenses, reportedly stands around Rs 60 crore.

Crew opened to largely mixed reviews. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV, gave the film 2 stars out of 5 and wrote, "Crew would have been much more fun if only it knew how to buoy things up with strokes of genuine inspiration. Yes, that is what is sorely missing in a film that goes for gold but fails to find a source of sustained sparkle.

Produced under the banners of Balaji Telefilms and Anil Kapoor Film & Communications Network, Crew not only features the three leading ladies but also includes Diljit Dosanjh, Kapil Sharma, Saswata Chatterjee, Rajesh Sharma, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in its ensemble cast.

Kriti Sanon On The Possibility Of Crew Sequel: "We Would Love To Be Back"

Heist comedy Crew is soaring high at the box office and actor Kriti Sanon says she along with co-stars Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan would love to reunite for a potential sequel.

Crew follows three air hostesses -- played by Tabu, Kareena and Kriti -- whose future seems uncertain as their airline Kohinoor is on the verge of bankruptcy, until they find a dead passenger smuggling gold biscuits.

Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, the film has grossed Rs 70.73 crore worldwide within four days of its release. It is produced by Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network and Balaji Motion Pictures.

Kriti said she is game for reprising the role of the nerdy dreamer Divya Rana from Crew, if writers Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri come up with a good script.

"People have been loving it. We would genuinely love to be back and do something fun. Obviously, it puts a lot of pressure on the writers... It's the audience that motivates the makers for a sequel. When they love something so much, you feel you can definitely do something next. So, hope so," the actor told PTI in an interview.

Crew was one of the most anticipated films of the year, courtesy its lead cast, and the success of the movie, also starring Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma, proves audiences come to the theatre to watch good content, gender no bar.

"It's nice to see the response to the content. Then, it doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman. It's just the content that was loved, something which the cinema should actually aim for... Where box office numbers don't depend on a male-centric film or female centric film and it's about only content. It doesn't have to be led by a man to pull the audience to the theatre," the actor said.

Crew, Kriti said, is a film that hasn't made in Indian cinema before as heist films in the country tend to revolve around male protagonists. "...But we haven't seen a film with three women. Here, you have three women belonging to different generations, almost a decade apart with solid, unique roles. People also love chemistry and I am so happy about it. It's a trio that people had never imagined and that's what made it exciting," she said.

Asked about her future projects, the actor said she is yet to sign a new film because she is at a place where she doesn't want to do movies for the sake of it. She would rather bask in the success of her latest project.

"I am going to wait for something that makes me feel that I am taking it to the next level. I don't want to repeat myself. I want to do something that excites me to get out of my bed. I have been reading a lot of scripts and going for narrations and meetings. Nothing has sort of struck me enough," she added.

Kriti was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and her next release is Do Patti, which also marks her production debut.
